Pepperl+Fuchs utilizes different technologies to provide industrial positioning systems for virtually any positioning task.
Our product range includes:
Distance Sensors
Distance measurement sensors from Pepperl+Fuchs use the optical concept of Pulse Ranging Technology (PRT). With modern PRT, distances to 300 m with accuracies of 0.1 mm are easily achieved.
Position Encoding System (WCS)
For positioning over longer travel paths, the position encoding system (WCS) excels in systems with curves, switchpoints, inclines, or declines. With measurement lengths to 327 m, WCS is suitable for position detection in warehousing, material handling and automated conveyor systems, crane positioning, elevators, and much more...
Data Matrix Positioning System (PCV)
The Data Matrix Positioning System uses Data Matrix codes, which are arranged side by side on a code reel as an information carrier. The reading head, based on modern camera technology, captures these two-dimensional codes and evaluates the exact position in X- and Y directions - up to 10,000 meters.
Position Guided Vision (PGV)
The versatile PGV camera simultaneously scans and processes data from three different floormounted initiators: the solid “travel path” navigation stripe, the high-resolution absolute positional band, and the decision-initiating control code (identification) segments.
Turns, stops, and starts are among many actions initiated by 15 mm x 15 mm data matrix control code squares that are also installed alongside the tracking strips.
Electronic CAM-Switch Controller (PAX)
PAX is a non-contact electronic CAM-Switch Controller and is used with the PMI inductive angle sensor. Easily capture machine shaft position without expensive, time-consuming mechanical cams! Configure up to 14 switch outputs and 6 analog outputs via the intuitive, integrated software.
The WCS absolute linear encoder system from Pepperl+Fuchs provides fraction-of-a-millimeter position feedback to a wide range of industrial and commercial applications.
Overhead monorails, conveyors, cranes, automated storage and retrieval systems…even elevators and theater stage lighting systems can raise their performance to new levels with the WCS.
Automated guided vehicle (AGV) control advances with Data Matrix technologyData Matrix codes, which pack a tremendous amount of digital information in a postage stamp-sized footprint, can be found in seemingly endless commercial and consumer areas. But their full potential in industrial automation applications is only now being tapped. By integrating this powerful technology into traditional AGV control, material handling is elevated to an entirely new level.
The Pepperl+Fuchs PGV is the world’s first Data Matrix-based positioning tracking and control system. Using an advanced industrial 2-D camera, the PGV not only guides a carrier along its coded or colored path, it also offers an integral identification solution to initiate starts, stops, and turns and an absolute encoding system capable of positioning the carrier with sub-millimeter precision. The system features excellent immunity to dirt, scuffing, and ambient light interference ensuring maximum uptime and system availability.
Unparalleled Safety!
The PXV positioning system is available as safe version: The safePGV enables safe absolute positioning according to SIL 3/PL e for the first time with just a single sensor.
